A Personal Portrait — My Mother Omega
For my mother Omega’s 60th birthday, I wanted to create something that captured the essence of who she is—her strength, her grace, and her beauty. This portrait became one of the most personal and meaningful pieces I’ve ever created.
The painting now hangs in her home, a reflection of the woman who helped shape my life and my art. It reminds me that the most powerful work comes from the heart.
She recently celebrated her birthday, and the accompanying photo reflect her today—still giving, still encouraging, and still pouring into others with the same love and strength. Together, these images tell a story not just of time passing, but of a life that continues to shine with purpose.
A Defining Moment — Valerie Valdez
Valerie Valdez’s portrait captures a defining moment of courage and faith. I remember the day she shared her story—standing before our church, feeling called to step forward and embrace her purpose despite fear and uncertainty.
Her strength in that moment of vulnerability became the foundation for this piece. I wanted to capture not only her presence, but the inner light that shines when someone chooses faith over fear and courage over comfort.
This piece holds personal significance for me as well. I painted it for her birthday held at a paint bar—what began as a simple, meaningful gift unexpectedly became a turning point. After 15 years away from portrait work, this moment stirred something in me and marked the beginning of my return to painting portraits.
Her story is a reminder that our most defining moments often come when we are willing to be seen, to be vulnerable, and to step into the unknown—trusting we are being guided by something greater.

Into The Deep — Phil Valdez
Into the Deep, inspired by Pastor Phil Valdez’s book of the same title, represents a journey of faith that resonates with anyone who has felt called beyond what is familiar. His story reflects a willingness to step beyond the expected and fully embrace a deeper calling into purpose and ministry.
In this portrait, I depicted him rising from the water—symbolizing resilience, trust, and the decision to move forward without retreat. As I worked on this piece, I knew it needed to capture more than his likeness. It had to reflect the depth of his commitment, the courage it takes to lead with faith, and the peace that comes from walking in alignment with that calling.
The title Into the Deep speaks to that moment when we stop standing at the edge and fully step into what we are called to do. Pastor Phil’s willingness to take that step has inspired many, and this portrait serves as a reminder that with Jesus, we don’t just step in—we rise.

Charitable Portraits - Kenny G
In 2009 and 2010 I had the honor of creating commission portraits of the legendary saxophonist, Kenny G. These works were part of something greater than portraitures. They were created to support Shriners Hospital for children, an organization dedicated to providing specialized care to children regardless of their family's ability to pay.
Over two consecutive years, both portraits were auctioned during his concerts. The images shown captures one of those pieces, each contributing to a cause rooted in compassion and care.
Kenny G's generosity and commitment to giving back inspired me to capture not only his likeness but also the spirit behind his work, he graciously signed both portraits for the collectors
